MAGNA'S NEW LOCATION

In July 2011, Magna Surgical Center moved to a brand new physical plant in Bedford Park, conveniently located only 1.5 miles from Midway Airport. Magna's new location allows us to proudly continue the tradition of outstanding patient care. Magna Surgical Center is currently offers:  

• three operating suites
  
• twenty-one recovery stations

Through an assessment of an organization's processes and personal visits with its patients/residents and staff, the organization is evaluated. Accreditation may then be awarded based on how well the organization met Joint Commission standards. 

Magna Surgical Center consistently meets the needs of area specialists by providing state of the art equipment and technology in a convenient and cost-effective setting. This pairing of an outstanding team of doctors and nurses with the latest surgical equipment and facilities is why Magna Surgical Center is a recognized leader in outpatient surgery in Chicago. Our mission is to provide our patients and surgeons with a cost effective and comfortable, yet high quality technical environment for outpatient procedures.  

The 60,000 square foot building is home not only to the surgical center, but also many other practices including a state-of-the-art medical diagnostic imaging facility and an outpatient physical rehabilitation center. Our new Bedford Park location provides our surgeons with the latest technology and equipment while being easily accessible to their patients. The new building also houses a pathology lab making pre-operative testing easy for both patients and physicians.

The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ is a clear sign that the accredited organization has demonstrated compliance to the most stringent standards of performance.

To maintain and earn accreditation, a health care organization undergoes an extensive unannounced on-site review by a select team of Joint Commission professionals such as administrators, physicians, and nurses at least once every three years. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the organization's performance in areas that affect patient/resident care.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF MAGNA SURGICAL CENTER ​

Magna Surgical Center, located in Chicago’s southwest side, opened its doors in 1987 and relocated to its new physical plant in 2011.  Magna has served the Chicagoland community under its existing management since its inception. The case mix performed reflects the diversity of the needs of patients in the surrounding areas and includes ophthalmology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, GI/gastroenterology, pain management, podiatry and general surgery. Magna maintains a professional staff of approximately 75 surgeons, many of which have been active members since its inception.  The Magna Surgical Center family also includes employees and relatives of employees who have been at the Center since the first day it opened its doors in 1987.
